Scientists create a device that converts plastic into food
Livin Studio has created a device that converts plastic into food by taking advantage of naturally occurring fungi. Fungi are known to have the innate ability to convert toxic materials into materials that are less harmful to the environment. In a similar process, Fungi Mutuarium is a system that feeds plastic to fungi, which in turn turns it into something you can feed on as well.

The system is contains different types of pods that are made of agar, also known as ‘FU’s. Agar, a seaweek-based gelatin, is mixed with starch and sugar to provide the necessary nutrients needed for the fungi to grow.
