Make a microphone using a matchbox
Yes, we love DIY projects here at Interesting Engineering, especially when it involves a bit of science, in this case some simple acoustics. Youtube channel DaveHax created a video showing how to create a microphone using a matchbox and some pencil lead. With this easy project you can listen to sound and music from across the house using a microphone you can make yourself.
This simple project will also require a battery, some cables and crocodile clips and a headset or speaker. This simple and fun electronics experiment is great to do with the kids.
First, remove the drawer from the matchbox and use a sharp pencil to poke two holes on each end of the drawer.
