Automated Seabin collects trash on the ocean surface
It should come as no surprise to you, but plastic waste in the oceans is a huge problem that needs to be addressed more effectively. Most objects we throw away eventually end up in the seas and in addition to contaminating the water, cause irreparable harm to marine life.
Knowing this, Australian friends Andrew Turton and Pete Ceglinki created Seabin, an automated trash bin, which removes any residue from the sea surface simply and efficiently. Seabin is meant to be used in marinas with a shore based water pump on the dock running on shore power.
