۸th grade robotics class build ‘Frozen’ inspired robotic hand for 6-year-old Ariah
A 6-year-old girl who was born without a right hand got a new robotic thanks to a robotics class at the Deer Creek Intermediate School in Wisconsin, United States. These young students built a prosthetic hand for small Ariah inspired by her favorite movie, “Frozen”.
The group of 8th graders made the hand using only $ 20 worth of materials as part of an initiative of the US science program called Fostering Innovation through Research, Science and Technology (FIRST). Students also worked with E-Nable, a global voluntary program, which brought the robotics class to 6-year-old Ariah. Inspired by the Disney movie, they put together a turquoise hand, resembling Elsa’s dress, and the hand is decorated with snowflakes and has “Queen Ariah” printed on it.
